Article Marketing – How To Get Started

One of the free and effective ways to bring traffic to your website is writing articles. Writing articles is really not too much different from writing a blog post.
We need to start by searching for key words. To do this, go to: Key Words.
Enter a key word related to your niche. For example if your niche is dog training, then those would be the words you would enter. If your niche is health, then you could enter “health”, or “natural health”. Then press the button that say “Get Keyword Ideas”.
A big list of words will result, along with several columns beside them. The columns you are really interested in are the first two after the suggested keyword itself.
Understanding the Keyword List:
First you will be interested in the 3rd column over (counting the key word as column 1, then there is a column that has a bar of color or no color, then there is the 3rd column). This 3rd column shows the search volume for the month. Obviously the higher that number, the better.
Next you want to compare column 3 with column 2 which has a bar of solid teal color (or no color at all). This shows the competition. If there is no color, there is no competition. As long as there is no more than 50% of competition and the search volume is over 1-2000 then I click on the link that says “add” which is on your far right.
Once you have exhausted this list, you might be able to think of another key word related to your niche. You can enter this also and go through the process again.
Using the Keyword List:
Now you have a great list of key words which people are actually using to search for information about your niche. Use these as a guide to write some articles and blog posts related to your niche. If you added the chose keywords as I suggested, then you will see a long list of word on your right hand side of the page. The heading of this column will say “Selected Keywords”.
Scroll down to the bottom of this list and you will see some options to download the list. Chose your preferred option (txt or csv), and download them to the folder on your hard drive where you are storing the information about the niche you are working on.
Chose a keyword. Use this as a title or in the title of your post or article. Note down everything you can think of about your niche, that would also relate to this keyword.
Now you have some extensive notes from which to write a blog post or article. In fact no doubt you will be able to write more than one article from all the notes you have jotted down.
