Let’s Combine Blog Posts and Articles
Oct 4th, 2008 by Kiwi Champ
We can get the maximum benefit from the efforts we put into writing our blog posts, by turning them into articles which will bring traffic to our blogs.
In previous articles, we noted that one of the most recommended ways to start our online presence today is by creating a blog.
A blog is simply one of the interactive means of publishing on the internet today. With the use of the comment function on your blog, your readers can actually engage in a discussion about the topic you wrote about.
The most recommended blog software to install is WordPress.
- WordPress is known to be the most stable and versitle blogging software on the net at the moment.
-
There are multitudes of themes available so that you can customize your blog to go with your business websites or literature.
-
There is also a very large selection of plugins which will help you do most anything you want to with your blog.
- (If you need help installing this, you check out our Blogger’s Dream package, that includes a set of videos that will show you step by step how to install, customize and add plugins to a WordPress blog.)
Why Blog?
- Search engines are looking for content driven websites.
-
Blogs have added sources of traffic – for example: pinging. You can register your blog with mybloglog.com, technorati, and other blog directories to start making your site known.
-
We already mentioned the comments. Every person who comes and comments on your blog, leaves a link embeded in their name. These links are valuable to your ratings.
- With the help of RSS, you can have regular readers who will be alerted every time you create a new post.
How To Squeeze Maximum Benefits From Our Blogs and Articles With Minimum Effort:
Sometimes when we start to learn all of the aspects of social networking, combined with article writing and blogging we can get very overwhelmed. But if we have a strategy in place, it is very possible to keep both your blog posts and your articles flowing.
Here is the strategy I am finding the most beneficial:
First I focus on the blogs, and I am organizing my day to post at least 2-3 times a week on each blog. (More if possible).
I like to plan a series of articles and that gives me a “roadmap” to follow. Of course that makes it easier to get started on each post, because I have a direction to follow.
You can also make some of your posts as product reviews. This will add more content to the blog.
Next, once I have five posts up, I start with the first post, and rewrite it enough to be able to present as an article. (You need your article to be at least 20% different than your post).
It is much quicker to rewrite a post, than to write a totally separate article.
Remember, the road to success is traveled one step at a time!
